The release date for Overwatch 2 is finally here. The release date for Overwatch 2 is October 4, 2022. This only applies to PvP. When Overwatch 2 PvE content will be live is still uncertain.
Overwatch 2 will be launched simultaneously for Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4 and 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox series X, the game will have a cross-play platform and progression too.
The main change in Overwatch 2 is the replacement of 5v5 matches. Teams will now consist of in one Tank class, two Damage classes, and two Support classes. According to Blizzard, removing a tank from the team games will result in faster gameplay from now on.
Assault, Control, Escort, and Hybrid, along with Story Experience, Hero Missions, and all previous Overwatch PvP modes, will all be back on Overwatch 2.
A PvE option will only be available in 2023. You will be able to join forces with your friends to fight against AI-controlled enemies.
The new Push mode is the first example of PvP gaming that we’ve seen. It functions very similarly to the standard Escort mode and assigns one team the responsibility of transporting the cargo from one location to another. While this is going on, the other team must halt their advance. The primary distinction is that you don’t need to fool around with having friends on the payload since the robot on the payload will move for you. Both Competitive and Quickplay will provide the mode.
A selection of fresh new maps will also be live and ready to be played on. Six Overwatch 2 maps are now confirmed; they are modeled on Toronto, Gothenburg, Monte Carlo, Rome, New York City, and Rio de Janeiro. There may be more.
New heroes are also released in the new Overwatch sequel, Sojourn is one of the newest heroes, Sojourn has a rapid-fire energy rifle and a railgun and deals tons of damage.
The Junker Queen is one of the newest tank heroes. Her passive ability (Adrenaline Rush) heals her if Junker deals damage.
A new scoreboard is also a new feature in the Overwatch 2 release. The new scoreboard allows all players from both teams to check the enemy team’s kills, assists, deaths, damage, and healing.
With the new Overwatch 2, the loot system will be fully removed and will be replaced with a new battle pass. there will be a free and paid battle pass like other popular games are using at the moment.
